# The Owner's Shortlist

> A free service that helps owners of trades and service businesses doing about $1M to $50M a year find a business broker or other specialist. Owners can call and talk to a real person, who introduces them to one broker whose past deals fit their business. Brokers pay to be listed; owners pay nothing. Coverage is Florida today.

The Owner's Shortlist serves owners of established businesses: HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, pest control, landscaping, auto repair, manufacturing, and other trades and service companies with about $1M to $50M in annual revenue. The typical owner has been in business for 20 to 30 years and is beginning to think about what happens when they eventually stop running things.

This site uses plain language. It avoids M&A jargon, brokerage terminology, and exit-planning buzzwords that many owners find off-putting. Articles are written for a general business owner audience, not for financial professionals.

A person, not software, reviews the business and compares it to what each broker on the list has actually sold (industries, business sizes, and feedback from past clients after closing). The owner gets one introduction, not a list of names. There is no cost to the owner and no obligation.
